TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS

Please take a look at the troubleshooting tips below - they may help you to get things working, or help identify what's causing the issue. Thank you!

General Tips

  • Network and browser requirements for viewing streams

    • The quality of your live playback experience is largely dependent on the download speed you have from ISP (Internet Service Provider) or mobile provider. Keep in mind that your overall Internet speed can vary depending on many factors, including but not limited to: time of day, Wi-Fi performance, other devices/users utilizing your connection, and the strength of the signal provided by your ISP.

      • Download speeds
        The following table shows the minimum speeds required for each playback quality:

        240p            500 kbps
        360p            1 Mbps
        720p            3 Mbps
        1080p          7 Mbps
        2K                12 Mbps
        4K & up       22 Mbps

  • Network/Filtering issues

    • If your device is connected to your school network...

      • Try accessing the page from another device connected to the network.

        • If two or more devices have issues, ask your IT department to change filtering/firewall settings to allow the content.

      • If the page is working on other devices on the network, the problem is probably not related to your school's network or filtering software.

  • Desktop OS and Browser

    • We recommend using the following browsers and versions on Windows 7 or later or macOS Sierra (10.12.6) or later:

      • Chrome 30+ (has automatic updates)

      • Firefox 27+ (has automatic updates)*

      • Microsoft Edge

      • Safari 9+ 

  • Antivirus software

    • If you have an antivirus program on your computer, you can try temporarily disabling it to see if that has any effect on whether the page content shows up.

  • Phones

    • While this program can be viewed on a phone, we recommend using a tablet-sized device or larger for the best experience.

Chromebooks

  • School-issued Chromebooks

    • In-school Network

      • If student Chromebooks are on the school network, it may be a filtering or firewall issue. Ask your IT department to allow content from these domains:

        • *.vimeo.com

        • *.vimeocdn.com

        • *.magisto.com

        • *.akamaized.net

        • *.cloudfront.net 

    • If your school has set up restrictions on school-issued Chromebooks, your IT department may need to update those policies to allow our livestream content. Google's instructions can be found here.

    • In a pinch, you can present the video to your students via Zoom, or other video conferencing software.

  • Computer updates:

    • We recommend MacOS 10.12 (Sierra) or higher.

  • Spyware/Malware scans:

Tablets and Phones

  • Phones

    • While this program can be viewed on a phone, we recommend using a tablet-sized device or larger for the best experience.

  • School-issued Tablets

    • In-school Network

      • If student tablets are on the school network, it may be a filtering or firewall issue. Ask your IT department to allow content from these domains:

    • This program requires javascript to be enabled. You can check to see if javascript is enabled in your browser by going to this page: https://www.enablejavascript.io/en

  • Network/Filtering issues
